In Need Of A Quality Real Estate Evaluation? We Can Help!
When buying or selling a property, it’s important to know just what you’re getting or giving — that’s why home inspections are conducted. But the truth is, most home inspectors don’t pay much attention to the chimney and fireplace when performing their evaluations. It’s a scary fact, especially since most homeowners assume that the chimney system is included in the home inspection. Granted, the home inspector will give the fireplace system a cursory look, but they do not do, nor are they trained to do a detailed fireplace inspection.
If you’re moving, buy or sell with confidence by scheduling a detailed real estate evaluation with Fireplace Safety Services. Our technicians can provide you with a full report, including photographs using the Chim-Scan® System that will help to document the condition of the chimney and appliance at the time of purchase or sale. This documentation not only helps protect you from liability issues down the road, but it can also give you an idea of what kind of investment, if any, you’ll need to make in the chimney system transferring hands.
What Does A Real Estate Evaluation Include?
A quality real estate evaluation will be conducted by a Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA)- and National Fireplace Institute (NFI)-certified technician. Our technicians are both certified and trained to provide you with the highest level of service and can guarantee a thorough and accurate real estate evaluation every time.
During the evaluation, we’ll snake a video camera up or down your chimney so that we can get an up-close and personal look at every detail, including your flue liner, your damper, your smoke chamber, your firebox, your crown and your chimney cap.
We’ll check for masonry damage, rust, corrosion, creosote buildup, cracks, blockages, leaks and any other damages or weaknesses. We’ll also check all of the parts of the appliance for proper installation, efficiency and condition.
And when we’re finished, we’ll go over our findings with you, provide you with a copy of the report and recommend next steps based on our findings. If repairs need to be made, we can provide you with a cost estimate and recommend a plan for restoring the safety and condition of the chimney system and appliance.
